America Ascending
This gallery presents America's involvement in the "World at War: 1914-1918." Here, a life-size diorama details soldiers of the U.S. 30th Infantry Division, under the guidance of Australian soldiers, as Uncle Sam receives lessons on trench warfare. Innovations of this period included the Mauser-designed bolt-action rifle. Featured gunmakers were John M. Browning, John C. Garand and William B. Ruger.
