Lt. Philip Hemphill's PPC Championship Revolver
This pistol was used by Lt. Philip Hemphill of the Mississippi Highway Patrol in winning five National Police Shooting Championships, as well as numerous regional and state championships. Several national records have also been set with this pistol, including a 1500-118X that was recorded on September 22, 2001 at the Magnolia Classics Regional in Mississippi.
Lt. Hemphill's "Big Boy" features a custom bull barrel that was machined by Robert Jones of Jackson, Mississippi, from a 6-inch steel blank provided by Shilen, Inc. Mr. Jones also cut the top of the barrel to accommodate an Aristocrat adjustable sight rib. The custom grips were made specifically for Lt. Hemphill's hand by Nill Grips of Germany.
