John Palm (1782-1865) worked in Womelsdorf, Berks County, PA. Womelsdorf is located on the westward road from Reading to Lebanon, about 14 miles west of Reading. Silver-mounted over/under double rifle, silver-engraved patch box, numerous engraved silver inlays. 1987 NRA Annual Meetings Silver Medal Winner, Reno, NV.


39-inch full octagon swivel barrels marked "J. Palm No. 192" Four-piece silver engraved patchbox with five piercings. 9.25 inch silver toeplate with three piercings. Seventeen silver inlays. All furniture is silver. NRA Award winner - One of Ten Best Weapons" at 1987 Annual Meetings in Reno, NV. John Palm was listed in the Boyd's Berks County busieness Directory of 1861, indicating he was still working as a gunsmith at 83 years of age. One son, Daniel, while purchasing all the tools at his father's estate liquidation sale, was noted as a blacksmith in 1866. Another son John, was reported to have produced some percussion rifles.
