McQ (1974)
John Wayne as Lon McQ
MAC 10 - 9mm
Audiences accustomed
to seeing John Wayne on horseback with a
Winchester lever-action found this
contemporary cop drama a
refreshing change. Starring as detective Lon McQ, Wayne shed his
cowboy hat and six shooter for a trench coat and this submachine
gun, a fully-functioning MAC 10 fitted with a working suppressor.
The MAC 10 was Wayne's signature arm of the film, and was further
highlighted on the theatrical release poster.
