The Museum
Displays in 15 galleries depict the history of Americans and their guns, tracing six centuries of firearms evolution - from the simplest of hand cannons and early days when each piece was the product of a skilled artisan, to mass firearms in the Industrial Revolution and today's cutting-edge innovations. Exhibits also demonstrate the many uses of guns for early settlement, military, police, hunting, competition and personal defense.
The Galleries
Explore 15 galleries filled with unique and distinctive firearm treasures. Guns dating from 1350 to present-day are displayed in engaging themed exhibits that take a journey through American history.
The Curators
The National Firearms Museum curators are some of the most knowledgeable and qualified gun experts in the field. Their 50-plus years of experience includes authoring numerous books, articles and columns.
Cafe & Range
The Cafe and Range are located in the NRA Headquarters building, both are open to the public. The Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, and the Range is open every day but Tuesday.
Store & Library
The National Firearms Museum Library is located on the second floor of NRA's headquarters building. It's open by advance appointment only Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
